Had to trade-in my Blue R36 Estate as wifes MS forced sale

Post by LaurieR36 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 3:54 pm

Hi members, some of you may remember me from the old forum.
just posting this note as due to my wifes MS getting worse it was getting very hard to get her in and out of the R36.
So as I couldn't be without a vehicle and needed one that I can put in a hoist for her I traded in my beloved Biscay blue R36 estate to a garage near me for a part ex on a VW Touareg Altitude.
got a fair deal from the garage one that I was happy with in the circumstances.
hes just posted it on autotrader and his own site here
autotrader

Metro-motors
http://www.metro-motors.co.uk/used-cars ... 2200725287
some of the details are incorrect its an RNS 510 not 310.
most important is the maps, engine and gearbox have been up dated with the flashbyte dongle which the dealer has.
does make difference to engine and gearbox I found.
So sadly please can one of you give it a good home before a non believer buys it.
its back on its original plates RF58 HSJ
any questions about it just email me.
sorry to see it go but had a great 5 years with it and a shame they haven't replaced it.
anyway take a look all those that may be interested.
will keep an eye on the forum to see how other members are getting on with their steeds and may see my old one there in the future.

so by for now.

Laurie

Cracking looking car that one!

Someone will get a good buy! I'd argue that's pretty cheap too compared to other on the market.

Shame you had to sell, but the Touareg is still a lovely car, very pleasant to drive and bags of torque

Thanks AJ,
just a note as I remember these things.
all interior lights LED, front Indicators LED, reversing and Fog LED.
the 4 wheels on the car are refurbished as of 16 months with a cut lip.
took off the star caps from the wheels and has stud caps and wheel centre logos.
the spare wheel requires a refirb as had a blowout and the lip powder coat got damaged.
car had a de-swirl polish while the wheels were off all done by a company in the south West.
the car is still in the sites gallery.

all the servicing under my ownership was done by a VW dealer Murrays and the DSG and Haldex was done early at about 45,000.
MOT and service Oct 16.

Hi, I've seen your lovely car for sale and am very interested in it. Can you tell me of any known faults or things that might need to be done in the near future? It's up for sale 212miles away from me and I didn't want to travel that far to find its not 100% thanks for your help, nick

Sorry for the delay in replying, Christmas got in the way.
MOT and service just done in beginning of October and the MOT had an observation of corrosion on the rear springs.
Can't see any issue probably a standard report for a car of this age.
All tyres replaced early this year so done about 6000 on them, Pirrelli P Zero's.

The only cosmetic job I didn't do is the driver's seat cushion foam replacement to fix the door side bolster.
Seat cover is excellent just the foam requires replacement.
Wasn't worth me doing as I have to get out against a wall so always had to sit on the bolster to get out.

All brake pads very good, disks have a small lip but full width contact.
Wheels were Gtechnic Quartz protected again August this year.

Nothing else comes to mind, but I welcome any questions to help my old car to go to a good home.

Laurie

Thanks for getting back to me. Have u had any issues with the DSG box or any work carried out on it ? No body work or accident damage ? Did u own this car from new ? Sorry for all the questions but if I go to look at it it will be over a 400 mile round trip. Thanks for your time, nick.

Also I'm a bit confused by the rear badge ? R36+ ? What's the + for as it's the first 1 I've seen with that on ?

Probably because of the extra power added by the map. The + badge is something Audi did with their special models!
